Outreach

To surf and live with a purpose we must make a positive impact on
the community in which we are living and working. Our goal here in
Mazatlan is to become an influential part of the community, through
our surfing, our business, and our service. There are endless
oppurtunities in Mazatlan to serve. We are friends with a church
called Centro de Vida Mazatlan, One Way Surf Shop Mazatlan,
The Looney Bean Coffee Roasting Co. and Kirkito‘s restaurant.
Centro de Vida is my friend Javier‘s church. Javi is a Maz local, he is
the guy to know down here if you wanna surf and serve. Javi‘s
church and surf shop, One Way Mazatlan, are constantly serving
Mazatlan.whether it is going to the dump to feed and help the people
who live there, letting the groms invade his shop, or putting on his
annual surf contest.

Being affiliated with Javier is priceless, as many of Javi‘s visions
for Mazatlan and the surfers here fit perfectly with ours. The
Looney Bean is a coffee shop that a friend of mine from California
owns.In a relatively short time of being open, the influence of the
Looney Bean and its staff here is amazing. Hanging out and
working at the Looney Bean on a busy day is an outreach in itself.
Another friend of mine, Kirk, has opened a breakfast place right
next door to the Looney Bean. There is also a YWAM,
youth with a mission, who are constantly giving there lives to
serve Mazatlan.
This is what Puras Olas is all about, surfing and serving.
