I have spent a good deal of my life, and money, on surf trips,and I don`t regret any of them. However, all of them have one thing in common, when you get home there was very little if any positive impact on the people and the areas that were surfed. Here in Mazatlan Surf Camp with Puras Olas we want to be more than just surfers, we want to surfwith a purpose. We want to discover Mexican culture through surfing with and serving the people of Mazatlan. There was a time in my life when surfing was my life. After growing up in the mountains once I discovered surfing it was all I wanted to do, I just wanted to surf all day long and get as good as possible as quickly as possible. As important important and fun as surfing is for me I have realized that if that is all I do with my life, I will end up with a self-centered empty life, because no matter how you word it, surfing is for the surfer. It is a selfish sport. Now don‘t get me wrong I love to take off if I know we are gonna score some good waves, but there has to be more to life than just good waves. And that is what we are here to do, score epic waves and live for more.

My belief is that we surfers are passionate people. Passiontate about surfing, traveling, adventure, and relationship. I want that passion in my life to be turned from my selfish motives into love and service for others. I also believe that I am not the only person that feels this way, I invite everyone to join, beginners to pros. Come, enjoy Mazatlan, the epic surf that is here, and live for more.
